“The efforts made by the government recognized by the IMF”
The statements of the International Monetary Fund on the financial situation of San Marino and the agreement with Italy on radio and television are “important awards of government action “.
The San Marino Christian Democratic Party, which in a note expresses “his own satisfaction with the results highlighted by the note from the International Monetary Fund at the end of the recent visit to San Marino, from which they emerge a positive and encouraging picture: clear the recognition of the efforts made by this government to solve the problems of the country“.
“In addition to underlining the ‘resilience’ of our Republic in the months of the pandemic and the effectiveness of the vaccination campaign, in terms of speed and coverage of the population, thehe report from the IMF highlighted the positivity of policies aimed at supporting the economic fabric such as the expansion of layoffs, the extension of tax deadlines to support the liquidity of the private sector, aid for bankruptcies and mass layoffs and the choices to avoid trust in the system – declares the ruling party -. From an economic point of view, the most significant data concerned exports, imports, domestic consumption, employment and government revenues that proved to be above the levels of 2019 before the pandemic. All this made the Monetary Fund estimate economic growth of 5.5% for this year, and 3.7% next year, so as to bring GDP back to 2019 levels. The interventions on the banking system were also appreciated, with particular reference to the reorganization of the Cassa di Risparmio’s balance sheet, the recent approval of the law on banking securitisations, the implementation of supervision by Bcsm, and the decisions regarding Banca Cis, which contributed to significantly strengthen investor confidence, as demonstrated by the recent increase in bank deposits “.
And that’s not all: “Of course, alongside these awards, the International Monetary Fund recommended the need to plan and define the structural reforms of our system: pensions, VAT, taxes, labor market, and public administration, as defined in the government program that already concentrate the majority and the government in the coming months, with the aim of offer stability and sustainability, freeing up resources to increase the level of investments“.
The Christian Democrats also intend to emphasize “the strategic importance of the agreement signed on radio and television that will lead our broadcaster to cover the entire Italian territory, in the aftermath of the redistribution of frequencies “.
The extensive collaboration in this area, signed between the two states, “will give both the possibility of reaping advantages and opportunities, in terms of visibility and economic revenues”.
Finally, the San Marino Christian Democratic Party expresses “its own satisfaction to the whole government, and in particular to the secretaries of state Luca Beccari, Marco Gatti and Teodoro Lonfernini for their efforts and the results which help to renew hope for a recovery of our internal economy, with positive repercussions in all sectors of life in our country “.
