Redevelopment and construction of new green areas, urban forestation and greening interventions, but also projects for the acoustic remediation of buildings and urban areas. These are just some of the interventions to which the 17 million euros of React-Eu loans obtained from Municipality of Florence for the environment, and already approved by the City Council in the last budget change last July, as part of the community program to counter the effects of the crisis linked to Covid.
To ensure publicity in the selection of contractors and open up to the outside for the design of these interventions, the Municipality of Florence will equip itself with a list of professionals to whom to entrust architectural and engineering services for the design, construction management and safety coordination in urban green areas.
“With this notice we are opening up to the outside for the planning of interventions to be carried out with React funds in the context of urban green areas – said the Environment Councilor Cecilia Del Re -. Therefore, the funds arriving from Europe at this moment fall on the territory, both in terms of redevelopment of green areas and urban spaces, but also in terms of work for professionals, such as architects and landscape architects. Until now, the design had been mainly internal: in this way we open up a further way to include, involve and have experts and professionalism available in this way to redesign some areas of the city following the lines of reacting“.
The professional services that will be requests regarding the general context of “urban green”, such as: redevelopment of existing green areas, squares and public roads; creation of new equipped green areas and new urban parks; forestry interventions for redevelopment and increase of the city’s arboreal heritage, greening of buildings and municipal areas; acoustic remediation interventions (sound absorbing barriers) in public buildings and urban areas (structural and acoustic design).
The list of professionals will be updated every six months. The deadline for submitting applications is October 4, 2021, at 8 am, and the requirements and procedures for participation are indicated in thenotice.
