School tests: 43 corona-positive children in Salzburg
This means that significantly more positive tests were recorded than in the comparative period of the previous week (858), which is mainly due to the federal capital. In Vienna, 1,134 “hits” were recorded, twice as many as in the same period of the previous week (552). In Styria, too, there was more than a doubling at a lower level, in the other federal states the numbers did not rise as strongly or stagnated. 138 positive cases were reported from Upper Austria (previous week: 124), from Styria 78 (32), from Lower Austria 77 (50), from Salzburg 43 (30), from Carinthia 37 (26), from Tyrol 35 (33) from Burgenland nine (three) and from Vorarlberg seven (eight).
43 children tested positive in Salzburg
The figures from Vienna are, however, not comparable with those of the other federal states: In the federal capital, with the exception of elementary schools, tests are carried out with their own program (“everything gurgles”). The test is positive even at a higher CT value. In addition, the “everything gurgles” figures not only include the positive results of the mass tests in schools, but also, for example, the additional tests by symptomatic students or after positive cases in the family with “everything gurgles”.
Two schools in Upper Austria closed
In Upper Austria, two schools are closed due to increased infections. Despite the increasing number of positive tests, there are significantly fewer classes in quarantine than in the previous week: across Austria there are 70 – most of them in Vienna (19), together from Lower Austria (13), Upper Austria and Carinthia (eleven each), Salzburg and Tyrol (six each) and Vorarlberg (four). There were no closed classes in Styria and Burgenland.
