Rotary Club San Marino: Rotary School Award 2021
The Rotary School Award, reserved for young people who graduated in San Marino high schools with full marks, was presented by the President of the Club Massimo Rastelli, during a convivial meeting held at Fratta. An evening in which the children and their families were protagonists with the presence of the Secretary of Education and Culture Andrea Belluzzi, the director of the Secondary School Giacomo Esposito, the Rotaract President Giacomo Simoncini who will leave this position for being called to the highest judiciary of the Republic
Recognizing and rewarding the best school results of San Marino children has long been an initiative of the Rotary Club of San Marino, which has created the Francesco Balsimelli Award since the 1970s. The Rotary School Award, the current naming initiative, remains one of the most significant of the Club, which thus intends to underline the ideal Rotarian commitment of “serving”, which greatly values the education, culture and personal growth of these children who to have the future of our Republic as a dowry. President Rastelli emphasized Rotary’s commitment to collaboration with the School with initiatives for educational orientation, for insertion into the world of work and entrepreneurship. The opportunities that the Rotarian world offers to young people are many, ranging from youth exchange between clubs around the world, to leadership training through RYLA, to initiatives to support the creation of start-ups. We wish the young people present to continue to be curious, to invest more in training to be freer and develop a critical capacity to exercise a real role as a leader.
The speeches by Secretary Belluzzi and Dean Esposito underlined the commitment and courage of the young people who successfully completed a school path made extremely complicated by the pandemic. Congratulations to the awarded children and to the families who supported them and encouragement to future school choices for a complete school education that prepares them for the service of the community. Giacomo Simoncini talked about the experiences of Rotaractor leadership and the opportunities for Rotarian training. He received from those present the compliments and best wishes for the high office he is about to cover, Captain Regent of our Republic.
