New “pocket operas” in Salzburg: a water creature appears
Four music theater one-act plays revolve around the theme of “Undine”: A strong year of the “Pocket Opera” festival in Salzburg
For the ninth time, “pocket operas” will be presented in the Salzburg scene. Every two years, director Thierry Brühl and dramaturge Hans-Peter Jahn bit selected composers to work out short operas. The basis for each is a (literary) topic. For the latest issue, which premiered on Tuesday, it was the figure of the fairytale water creature Undine, who cannot survive in human form as a person capable of living and loving.
