Let’s take care of Debrecen’s greatest treasure! – Cívishír.hu

The Debrecen Valuation Committee and several other cooperating partners will hold a series of programs presenting the values of the Great Forest of Debrecen between October 4 and 10, 2021. The event was led by István Puskás, Deputy Mayor of Debrecen and János Mazsu, Chairman of the Debrecen Depository Committee, at a press conference on September 29, 2021 at the Méliusz Library.

Among them, István Puskás emphasized that the people of Debrecen may not have to argue in particular about the important role of the Great Forest in our lives, and the important natural and cultural value in the past, today and in the future. Sometimes, however, it is good to pay special attention to it as to other elements of our lives that need to be connected to ourselves to see what value they represent.

According to János Mazsu, the chairman of the Debrecen Treasury Committee – as it always belongs to the everyday life of the city’s residents – it is no coincidence that the Great Forest is a constantly recurring motif in the culture and artistic life of Debrecen. It is still one of the important pillars of the quality of the city, the healthy lifestyle of its citizens and sustainable development. We have to take care of the Great Forest, just as it takes care of us in a hundred different ways – this is what the programs of the Great Forest Week warn of.

Following the briefing, István Puskás, Deputy Mayor, and Zoltán Váradi, Head of the Nature Reserve, gave a short guided tour of the exhibition of the Nature Museum at the Home. The exhibition presenting the nest-homes of the forest dwellers can be viewed until October 30, 2021 during the opening hours of the Méliusz Library (Bem tér 19 / D) on the 1st floor berth.
