With the end of the tourist season, the problem related to the closure of the pharmacy reappears for the Castello di Città. Unfortunately, the lack of attendance by the citizens and the discovery of the recipes led the ISS management to decide to restore the single shift (from 9 to 14.30) from Monday to Saturday excluding holidays. The Giunta di Castello of the City of San Marino regrets this decision because it firmly believes that the Historic Center, a UNESCO heritage site as well as the capital of the Republic, should benefit from this service, if not 24 hours, at least full time and also on Sundays. and holidays, given its tourist vocation. It has been a long time since the council questioned itself and sought solutions to facilitate housing in the historic center and this decision will be a new deterrent and further inconvenience for the already residents. In our opinion, seeing the pharmacy closed conveys a sense of an abandoned city and does not at all favor the repopulation of the historic center, which is necessary to keep our intangible heritage and a city alive that can always attract a greater number of visitors. To remedy some of these problems, the Pharmaceutical Center has long proposed an innovative solution, which a cause of the pandemic has not yet been materialized. Equip the pharmacy with a vending machine for over-the-counter drugs and everyday items. The dispenser will be equipped with a screen that puts the user in electronic contact with a pharmacist present H24, answering from the hospital pharmacy which is always open. This contact will make it possible to sell even the most common over-the-counter drugs through the automatism, and it can also be used for the withdrawal of prescriptions. So the solution will see the pharmacy open for a morning shift and the distributor in operation 24 hours a day. The Executive welcomes this further administration, but believes that a bridging solution to the final objective and no longer postponable should remain. to keep the pharmacy open continuously. For this reason, we have made several proposals to facilitate the use of the service only for residents in the historic center and tourists, but also for the citizens of the Castle, such as reserving some parking spaces for a short stop dedicated, in fact, to users of the pharmacy. The Board remains open and available for discussion with the institutions to arrive at an optimal solution together in full compliance with the needs of all the parties involved.
