Vienna City Marathon, no related Covid19 cases
Preventive health measures and vaccination for 93% of the participants made it possible to organize the Vienna City Marathon. A couple of days ago the Public Health Service of the City of Vienna confirmed that no infections from Covid-19 have been recorded in connection with the event. “After consulting our Covid case monitoring team we can say that neglecting no positivity related to the Vienna City Marathon has been reported“, he informed the Dr. Ursula Karnthaler, Project Manager for Medical Measures Related to Coronavirus at the City of Vienna Health Service.
This news was welcomed with joy by the organization team of the Vienna City Marathon. “We have shown that a great running event can be organized in an inspiring and responsible way. The efforts regarding personnel and logistics have been very high. Equally important was the willingness of the running community to choose preventive measures. We would like to thank everyone for this. The Vienna City Marathon sent a strong message for running in Austria and internationally. Among the measures taken, mandatory presentation of a negative Covid test performed when the bib is collected. The organizers have also provided departure and arrival areas and larger refreshment points as well as a reduction in the number of participants.
