Toulouse. The gendarmes drove 1,341 km for a good cause
We reported (cf. Dispatch of April 25) the incredible challenge of eight gendarmes from the Toulouse mobile gendarmerie squadron who left Cap d’Agde by bicycle towards Cap Blanc Nez in the North. A journey of 1,341 kilometers completed in ten days with the aim of raising € 1,341.
It is in total two checks of 2,500 € which will be entirely transferred to the Associations of fight against breast cancer: “Vivre comme avant 31” and “SOS cancer du sein”.
Beyond the sporting challenge, the challenge was therefore also united. Thursday, these gendarmes, cyclists and solidarity, handed over the check for the funds collected to the President of the Association. “This money will be used mainly for the training of new volunteers. It moved me a lot that they offered us this pot. I like their determination”, confides Christine Albert, president of “Vivre comme avant 31”. If you feel isolated from breast cancer, the Association can help you: support, tips, sharing of experiences, legal aid, telephone tapping, forums, etc. breast can benefit from support by a volunteer. A woman who has lived with breast cancer donates some of her time and experience to help other women facing the same disease. The Toulouse branch of “Vivre comme avant” is looking for volunteers, in particular women affected by this disease.
