Protester attacked in Lyon: the police trial postponed for the third time
The trial of the two BAC police officers suspected of being involved in the assault on Arthur Naciri during a demonstration in Lyon in 2019 was to begin this Tuesday, September 28.
Arthur Naciri had lodged a complaint following his assault in 2019, while he was participating in a demonstration against pension reform. Violently taken to task at Place Bellecour, he came out with nine broken teeth. A photographer present on the scene had immortalized the scene.
The expert’s report is not finished
Last February, the president of the criminal court of Lyon had accepted the request of the police lawyer who requested additional information. Two videos of the assault had in fact been added to the file, without accusing the guilt of the two suspects.
“An expert should be appointed by the examining magistrate, it took a long time. Its report was due at the end of July, I relaunched it several times and finally, it will not be delivered in time.“, explains Thomas Fourrey, Arthur’s lawyer who says to himself”not so surprised unfortunately“of these particularly long delays.
