84% of the population in Portugal – about 8.6 million people – is already fully vaccinated against covid-19 and 86% – 8.9 million – has already indicated at least one dose of the vaccine, according to the Board’s vaccination report -General of Health (DGS), this Tuesday released. Note that the report includes the data entered until last Sunday.
Regarding vaccination by age groups, 100% of people over 65 are already vaccinated against covid-19.
About 99% of people aged between 50 and 64 years were inoculated with the first dose and 98% with the second. This is followed by a range from 25 to 49 years, with 94% of the population on one dose and 91% on two.
The age group from 18 to 24 years old already has 90% of people vaccinated with one dose and 84% with both.
Finally, the age group from 12 to 17 – whose inoculation process begins in August – has 87% of people vaccinated with one dose and 79% with full vaccination.
Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and the Algarve are the most backward regions in terms of the vaccination plan. Lisboa and Vale do Tejo have 85% of the population with at least one dose and 82% with both. The Algarve already has 81% with one dose and 77% with both.
The most advanced region is the North, where 89% of people already have a dose and 86% have completed the vaccination schedule. Alentejo and Centro follow with 87% with one dose and 85% with two, in both cases.
In the archipelagos of Madeira and the Azores there are 83% people inoculated with at least one dose and 81% with the complete vaccination schedule.
Since the beginning of the vaccination process in Portugal, on December 27, 2020, the country has already known more than 19.5 million doses and distributed 15.8 million, thus having about 3.7 million doses stored.
