Border guards did not allow 17 migrants to enter Lithuania from unauthorized places in Belarus, the State Border Guard Service (SBGS) said on Tuesday.

On Monday, migrants from Belarus were not allowed near Venion and Varna districts and Druskininkai municipality. Most, 11, foreigners planned to enter Yesterday illegally through the border section, going to Druskininkai municipality.

No foreigner was allowed into Lithuania on Monday. The successful use of service weapons, special means or physical coercion by Lithuanian border guards and soldiers assisting them was lost.

Border control on the Lithuanian side is carried out under reinforced regime.

According to the SBGS, 24 migrants were not allowed in Lithuania before, in total almost 200 foreigners were not allowed last week.

Almost 4,200 illegal migrants, most of them Iraqis, arrived across the border with Belarus this year.

Vilnius accuses the Minsk regime of organizing migratory flows and calls it hybrid aggression. As a result, an emergency situation has been declared in the country. At the beginning of August, a policy of reversal was introduced to curb illegal migration at the border.
