N-VA outraged about lack of clarity in the Brussels government about … (Brussels)
The Brussels N-VA is not pleased that the Brussels government does not meet its own deadline of October 1 for the extensive use of the Covid Safe Ticket (CST). The cooperation agreement that must be made for the introduction will be discussed in the committee on Tuesday afternoon, but the Brussels ordinance is not forthcoming. “This is yet another episode in the unbearable lightness of the Vervoort government in this crisis,” responds Brussels MP Gilles Verstraeten.

“Prime Minister Vervoort and Minister of Health Alain Maron are often absent, time and again late in, first the facts and later run after it. Minister Elke Van Den Brandt is responsible for health care in the Brussels government, on the other hand, does not show himself at all. There is simply no question of effective crisis management,” continues an incensed Verstraeten.
The N-VA text remains critical of the introduction of the CST: “Parliament still does not have a final, it remains unclear, flou artistique. Not only for us, but especially for the people who will have to apply it in the future. The catering industry, dance halls and nightclubs, but also healthcare institutions must know where they stand. Does it apply to them? Hoe? What are the preconditions, exceptions? Sanctions? Who is going to check? It is unacceptable that the Brussels government, due to its own indolence, will once again present the affected sectors with fait accomplis from today to tomorrow.”
Verstraeten also questions the effects of the CST. Unlike in France and Wallonia, the announcement in Brussels does not increase the willingness to vaccinate.
