Michele Conti, mayor of Pisa
After the investments of the first years of administration, which made it possible to create about 200 thousand square meters of asphalt and over 12 thousand square meters of sidewalks, the Municipal Administration of Pisa continues the plan of interventions for the extraordinary maintenance of sidewalks and city streets , giving way to a second tranche of works for a total value of over two million euros.
Over three months, from the beginning of October to the end of December, extraordinary maintenance works are carried out on asphalts and sidewalks in Riglione, Porta a Lucca, Cisanello, Pisanova (CNR area), Centro, Pisa sud and Litorale for a total amount of 2,052,897 thousand euros.
We start with the sidewalks of Riglione, first of all that of via Calatafimi, where the construction site has already been set up and from today comes alive to refurbish the structure. Then you will pass to the sidewalks of via Fiorentina (all along the street side houses) and via Gemignani, for a total amount of 292,645 euros.
The work, entrusted to the Castaf company, should conditions, except for slippage due to the weather, by half. At the same time as the Riglione construction site, the reconstruction of the sidewalks of Porta a Lucca also starts on Wednesday, along the entire via Randaccio and via Fabio Filzi, for an amount of 365,324 euros, entrusted to the Manetti company, with completion scheduled for mid-December, barring unforeseen events. The other construction sites, for a total of six distinct contracts, will start in October.
“With the opening of the mortgages that we have included in the latest amendment to the Budget – declares the mayor Michele Conti – we will be able between the end of 2021 and the beginning of 22, to carry on the great work of maintenance of roads and sidewalks that we have put in place since since the beginning of our settlement. To the almost 5 million euros invested in the first years of administration, we now add another 2 million euros: a second batch of construction sites to continue the redevelopment of the urban infrastructure of our city.
We did it because we consider it a priority to use all the financial means available to the Municipality and we will continue to do so in the future, also using the resources financed by the Ministry for the Pinqua urban plan of the more peripheral districts, to continue and complete our large maintenance plan. extraordinary, which to keep until the end of the legislature, affecting all the districts of the city “.
“As is our method – continues the councilor for public works Raffaele Latrofa – we are following an order of priority to complete the extraordinary maintenance work of asphalts and sidewalks throughout the city. After a first batch of works on the most deteriorated infrastructures and reported by citizens, which urgently required, in this second tranche we move on to renew other very worn sections and in need of structural interventions that will not be further postponed. In this regard, we have already started a revolutionary project: with a specific means all the asphalts of the city are “analyzed”. The vehicle beats about 4900 points for each road section and appreciates a tenth of a millimeter as a difference in height. The result will be a “scientific photograph” of the state of the art that will allow us to choose in an even more conscious and scientific way the many perspectives to be created ”.
Traffic changes. The following temporary parking and traffic measures will be adopted in Riglione to allow the works to be carried out: from 7 am on 27 September to 5 pm on 22 October in via Calatafimi in the section between Via Marsala and Via Ponte dell’Ammiraglio, a ban on parking with mobile forced removal on both sides, and one-way traffic with Riglione direction, with narrowing of the carriageway; It is also foreseen the establishment of the obligation to turn left / straight for vehicles coming from Via Ponte dell’Ammiraglio west side and establishment of the obligation to turn right for vehicles coming from Via Ponte dell’Ammiraglio east side. the deactivation of the traffic light system in Via Calatafimi is also envisaged. In via Gemignani, inside the public car park, on the cemetery side, there is a ban on parking with the removal of the coat for the construction of the construction site area.
The following traffic changes will be adopted at Porta a Lucca: from 7 am on 27 September to 5 pm on 22 October in via Filzi, in the section between Viale Giovanni Pisano and Via Randaccio, a parking ban with forced mobile removal on both sides; in via di Gello, inside the unpaved car park, on the Military Village side, a parking ban is instituted with the removal of the coat for the construction of the construction site area.
