If the project High Speed Line (LGV) Bordeaux-Toulouse is not done, it will not be because of the challenge before the courts, but because of funding that could not be secured by the local communities.
Last legal obstacle lifted
Monday September 27, 2021, the last legal obstacle to the LGV project, which aims to connect Toulouse and Paris via Bordeaux in just over three hours against around 4:10 today, has, in fact, been lifted.
Monday, the judges of the Board of state rejected the request of opponents to the project development of the southern Bordeaux rail network (AFSB) who demanded the cancellation of the declaration of public utility (DUP) granted to this section of the LGV project. A DUP which had been obtained in 2015.
Opponents give up the game
In everyday life South West from this Tuesday, the opponents also saying that they give up the game.
Henceforth, it is therefore the financial part of the project, i.e. 7.5 billion euros to be found, which conditions the construction of the new railway line.
The communities of Occitanie get involved

Sunday September 26, under the aegis of the Prefect of Occitanie, Etienne Guyot but also of the president of the Occitanie region, Carole Delga, a meeting of the presidents of the departmental councils, as well as the president of Toulouse Métropole and the presidents of the communities of agglomeration of the territory has taken place.
Meeting in New Aquitaine this Tuesday
These local authorities have undertaken to participate in the financing of the LGV, in support of the State, which will participate to the tune of 4.1 billion euros, of the Occitanie Region, which has announced its intention to pay 1.2 billion euros.
Etienne Guyot, who is leading a coordination mission for the entire project, will now participate in the communities of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Objective: to obtain the financial commitment only for the local communities of Occitanie and to close the budget of this project, true sea serpent of the South West for three decades.
