In October at Eden: a nice program at the Charleroi cultural center!
The least that can be said is that the Charleroi Cultural Center has been on the move this summer. From June to September, his team has never ceased to survey the districts to offer many cultural and festive activities. Whether it’s the Fête de la Musique, the 4 times 4 days of Quartiers Libres in Jumet, Montignies-sur-sambre, Marcinelle and Monceau, the two weeks of Back to School, the Wallomobile tour, the return of the Bloc Party on the Place verte, the Mini Festival de l’Îlot en Center-Ville or the exploratory walk from Monceau. “If there is something to choose that the Covid has taught us”, recalls Fabrice Laurent, the director of Eden, “it is to seize the present moment, to take advantage of every opportunity rather than to wait and bet on an uncertain future. Throughout the summer we have more than ever to carry out our missions by going out to meet the public, all audiences wherever they are in parks, neighborhoods, schoolyards or even café terraces. “
And this season starts with a creation residency and the premiere on October 1 at 8 p.m. for King Arthur, the latest creation by Compagnie Dérivation. After Comète, a show unanimously acclaimed, the Cie Dérivation turns the famous work of Henri Purcell to the punk-shaker! If the thread of the scenes and its musical score are preserved, it is a reworked version, very current, without frills and accessible to the greatest number from 11 years.
The month of October will be rich in proposals for all ages with Alphabeta and Ni oui ni non without forgetting another great premiere, that of Carolo David Lallemand who is back on his land to present Pasté Composite, his very first autobiographical show. Only one on stage taken from a work in which the man with many facets and careers looks back on his half-century of existence and militancy.
Music lovers will also have many (good) reasons to push the doors of Eden since October will be punctuated by l’Envol des Cités (with Daddy K at the end of the evening), the release party of Mochelan and the eagerly awaited concert of Georgio, the hip-hop sensation of the moment!
It’s also back-to-school time for the workshops of the Center for Expression and Creativity with the resumption of Fil au Bistrot, Bouger dans la rue and the textile arts labs hosted in the Citizen’s Spaces of the CPAS in Charleroi.
