Genoa, from Saturday a course to teach children to orient themselves in the woods
Genoa – Recognizing the tracks in the woods, learning to distinguish the flights of different birds with the compass: knowing nature and knowing how to juggle in the woods is the goal of the hiking course for children aged 8 to 14 organized by the FIE, the Italian Hiking Federation , at the Altum Park in San Desiderio,
Certified instructors-guides will talk about cartography, orientation, flora and fauna in a simple way and always related to the age of the children. But during the lessons you will also learn how to approach a trip, how to prepare the backpack, what type of clothing to use and how to choose an itinerary.
The course, costing 35 euros, will last every Saturday in October and the first lesson (Saturday 2 October) will be dedicated to the paths and related signs. On Sunday, October 31st there will be an excursion, lasting all day, in places to be defined, in which parents are also invited to participate.
“It is important to get used to knowing nature from an early age – says Emanuele Roccatagliata, vice president of the Ligurian committee of the Fie – In recent times, in fact, the number of people who walk the paths has increased but the naïve and those who do not know have also increased. nor do they respect the territory “. “We must pass the baton and make sure that the new generations know nature, the best practices to protect it – adds Guido Zampieri, coordinator of the course – If we don’t focus on young people, it’s all over”.
A compass will be given to all students enrolled in the course. For information and registration you can write an email to [email protected]
