EELV does not take offense after Jean Castex’s room
The story repeats itself. Prime Minister Jean Castex, traveling in the Tarn, announced this Saturday, September 25 the dealer name approached for theA69 motorway Between Toulouse and Castres. The public works group NGE (New generations of entrepreneurs) was designated for the construction and management of this vast site. While the head of government plans degressive tariffs, the NGE group promises a site without opening careers, and the state hopes to reassure some of the opponents of this project. Indeed, the career creation, not foreseen in the initial project, had already seen many protests from some environmental activists and number of appeals.
However, EELV Midi-Pyrenees does not seem to be convinced by the government announcements. “These slight adjustments intended to make the project more presentable do not fool anyone”, launches the ecologist party in a statement. And to add: “a highway is a ribbon of tar, dozens of hectares of sacrificed agricultural land, trucks and cars which pollute even more.” Fearing that the Tarn landscape and its many riches are “disfigured”, the activists perceive this site as a real “devastation”.
EELV considers this highway to be “ecological nonsense”
Opponents protest against “the inaction of elected officials and economic actors” who instigated the project in the face of ecological issues. “How can these decision-makers still imagine, that all the lights of global warming and pollution are bright red, that this anachronism will help the economic development of the Castres-Mazamet basin Qualifying the project “absurdity”, environmentalists believe that the opinion of “the opposition of the majority of the mayors of the municipalities organized on the route” is not taken into account.

Thus, EELV Midi-Pyrénées reaffirms its opposition to this “totally outdated” project. The activists reiterate their proposals fordevelop the route existing to allow “faster, free traffic and to relieve congestion in the villages crossed by the current national road 126”. At the same time, they renew their support alternatives and actions Proposed by local collectives and associations.
