Tradition is very popular in the Alpine region, and zafaco is also allowed to combine with one another: for the third year in a row, we have tested broadband and fixed network providers in Austria. In the next issue we will also take a closer and critical look at the provider in Switzerland for the second time.

As with our network tests in Germany, die has shown that our network test partner zafaco is monitoring the performance of the networks during the current year: Despite the load profiles that have changed due to the effects of the Corona crisis, the networks are running reliably and stably.

There was therefore no question that quality and load tests are legitimate despite the special framework conditions. In fact – this much has already been revealed – our measurements even show that a whole range of providers in the Alpine republic have once again improved significantly compared to the previous year.

Results incomplete with Germany

Even if a cross-border comparison is of course necessary, it should be noted that our landline tests in Germany, Austria and Switzerland show methodological differences. Your results are therefore not 1: 1 comparable.

Just two examples: Since there are far fewer landline calls in Austria than in Germany, we in the Alpine republic did not evaluate voice calls.

There are still no comparable publicly accessible data sources for that in Germany as part of the assessment of crowdsourcing. This leads to a different distribution of points, and there are also country-specific stipulations.

But for the best readers in Austria, the focus is anyway on which of the providers represented on the domestic market is the best choice for them. And the following provide informative answers to this question – this, too, has a long tradition with us.
