German duo for darts – EM qualified – Hopp not there
Salzburg The German duo Gabriel Clemens and Florian Hempel are qualified for this year’s European Darts Championship (October 14th to 17th) in Salzburg.
This emerges from the seeding list that the PDC world association published on Monday night. World Cup round of 16 Clemens is in 21st position and will face the Australian Damon Heta in round one. Hempel, who will make his debut at the European Championships, will meet the Scottish ex-world champion Peter Wright in the first round. Max Hopp could not qualify for the important darts event.
For the World Grand Prix (October 3rd to 9th) in Leicester, “The German Giant” Clemens is the only German representative. Welsh world champion Gerwyn Price, Scottish bird of paradise Wright and long-time dominator Michael van Gerwen from the Netherlands are top places.
