Toulouse. Art comes to the party at the Vanguard
In a street in the Jean Jaurès district, the black walls of the Vanguard storefront do not reveal the treasures that abound the club. Indeed, more than a simple box, the Vanguard is defined as a gallery club. We explain this new concept to you.
An original idea
Théo Vilatte, the club boss, at the origin of this new concept, details the birth of his project: “I found that the usual club format is running out of steam. We had to offer another choose. For my part, j I have always been a lover of contemporary art and I told myself that the visual aspect that art brings would go very well with the concept of the club “. The idea of Vanguard was born: a gallery club that combines dance, club pleasures and art. From floor to ceiling and from sound to lights, the Vanguard brings contemporary art to as many people as possible. A set of original works, inspired or licensed from a foundation, are on display: you will surely recognize the names of Andy Warhol, Karl Lagasse or Shepard Fairey. Local artists are also welcome. “We promote contemporary art in its entirety. Exhibiting artists from our region would be an honor” adds the club owner. All the more so, in case of love at first sight, it is possible to buy the exhibited works.
