So, under certain conditions, 41 percent of Russians are ready to move to new cities in Siberia. The results of a survey of the population on average in Russia and 16 percent of the population. At the same time, 51 percent of the respondents said they were not ready to live in new Siberian cities.
Among the reasons why Russians want to move to new cities, the respondents named job guarantees and wages two to three times higher than at the moment (29 percent). Another 12 percent pointed to over one million rubles. 11 percent of Russians have favorable living conditions and developed urban infrastructure.
The poll was conducted on September 22-24; 1015 Russians aged 18 to 65, who live in cities with a population of more than 100 thousand people, took part in it.
In August 2021, Sergei Shoigu will build several large cities in Siberia and make them scientific, industrial and economic centers. The initiative was supported by the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexander Uss, having named this region in addition to the investment project “Yenisei Siberia”, which the region belongs to together with the republics of Tyva and Khakassia.
