The draw for the next round of the Coupe de France took place last Thursday at the premises of the Occitanie Football League. The seniors of the FCO, aligned this season in D1, know their opponents: they meet Toulouse Métropole, a formation which evolves in Regional 1, on their ground Armand-Vaquerin, the Sunday October 3 at 15h.
Previously, the FCO team beat that of Grand Orb, and most recently Gruissan (Regional 3) at home. This last cup match was very close. Despite a strong wind, the two teams delivered a good meeting. Each had chances but came up against the excellent young 17-year-old goalkeeper Kevyn Macipe. A zero score closed the meeting and it was necessary to go through the penalty test to decide. It is the Sérignan / Valras team which qualifies for the fourth round of the Coupe de France. It’s a great performance for this young but very close-knit group that will still want to shine against Toulouse Métropole.
The level is even higher, but Jean Sasso, the president of the FCO, believes in his team; he is also counting on the presence of supporters to push his team on Sunday in Valras.
