Son of Drahi joins the administration of Altice Portugal | Telecommunications
One of Patrick Drahi’s four children, David Drahi, joined the board of directors of Altice Portugal, the owner of Meo, this summer.
According to company records, one of the Drahi twins replaced Alain Weill on the board of directors chaired by Alexandre Fonseca, and where Malo Corbin, financial manager of the Altice group, is also present.
David Drahi, who has a PhD in Atomic and Laser Physics from Oxford University in his curriculum, has been a director at Altice USA since 2019. According to the biographical note published on the website of Altice’s North American branch, David Drahi also studied at Cabovisão – the company that is now Nowo and that Altice had to sell, after buying PT Portugal in 2015.
in april of this year he was with his father in Aveiro, at Altice Labs, to learn about “the latest developments in products and solutions” that Altice exports to the markets where it is present.
In the summer, Weill announced his departure from Altice França and SFR, having been replaced in the presidency of this company by Grégory Rabuel. At the same time, he left the remaining positions in companies of the Altice group.
In addition to Altice Portugal, David Drahi replaced Alain Weill in the management of Altice Labs and Meo, as well as Meo Serviços Técnicos, to complete the current mandates until 2023. The change took place in July, but was published this month.
The French-Israeli Patrick Drahi (who founded Áltice with the Portuguese Armando Pereira) insists on having his children involved in his business. David’s twin brother Nathan, who worked, according to French press, in investment banking in London, was named general manager of Sothebys Asia this year – Patrick Drahi bought the auction house in 2019, for 3.3 billion euros – where he started by leading, in 2020, the Hong Kong office.
One of the daughters, Angelina, who is a data scientist, spent five years with Altice USA, first as a data analyst and then as director of data science at the group’s advertising company, a4 Media.
This summer, and according to her Linkedin page, Angelina left New York for Tel Aviv, to chair the board of directors of the Patrick & Linda Drahi Foundation (PLFA), a family foundation created in 2014 and registered in Switzerland, which develops projects in the areas of education, research, arts and entrepreneurship.
In 2019, Patrick Drahi came to Lisbon with her other daughter, Graziella, for the launch of the CTIE – Center for Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Catholic School of Economics and Business in Lisbon, a project supported by the foundation of the Drahi family.
Graziella Drahi has been linked to Altice USA since 2017, occupying, since June, the position of Head of Mobile & VP Offer Strategy.
