Russia exported 6.08 million tons of grain in August, reported the company “ProZerno” with reference to the data of the Federal Customs Service. This has become an absolute historical maximum.
“Never before in the history of the Russian grain industry has there been an export of 6 million tons of grain per month. This was largely due to Iran and the record export of peas, ”the experts noted.
Russia exported 5.27 million tons of wheat, 557 thousand tons of barley and 171 thousand tons of peas. The main buyers of Russian grain for two months of the season 2021-2022. Steel Turkey (2.51 million tons), Iran (1.79 million tons) and Egypt (980 thousand tons). With this advancement, the leader – Egypt was – only in third place.
Earlier in the Ministry of Agriculture statedthat as of September 7, agricultural enterprises harvested 95 tons of grain. In 2020, according to Rosstat, the grain harvest amounted to 133.5 million tons, wheat – almost 86 million tons.
At the same time, the Financial Times notedthat Russia has come a long way in 20 years to become the largest grain exporter. It is now a leader in agricultural exports and is being promoted across Eurasia, Africa and Latin America. At the same time, the sanctions, the West tried to “strangle the Russian economy”, only gave an additional incentive to Russian manufacturers, the newspaper said.
