Regionalliga Salzburg: Three teams squint at the elite league

Eight wins, three draws and only one defeat: With this successful run, St. Johann continues to smile from the top. Even if the 2-0 triumph in the Pongau derby against Bischofshofen, the sporting was partly in the background, Ernst Lottermoser’s team can plan for the elite league in the near future. Because the best two teams play against the top teams from Tyrol and Vorarlberg in spring.

Reiter causes unrest in the Pongau derby

It’s hot in the Pongau Derby between Bischofshofen and St. Johann. On and off the lawn. Because BSK boss Patrick Reiter is said to be …

“Slowly we can get the battle cry front runner, front runner, hey, hey by heart,” joked the coach in an interview with SALZBURG24.

Austria Salzburg Stolpert in Seekirchen

With the success against their arch rivals, St. Johann expanded their lead in Austria Salzburg and has an eight-point cushion on a non-promotion place. Because the violets stumbled again in Seekirchen against their “fearful opponent”. Since May 10, 2014 there has been nothing to harvest for the Maxglans in the “Aug” sports center. “We didn’t play a bad game, it was just unfortunate,” said coach Christian Schaider.

The first excitement arose in the start phase: Alexander Schwaighofer was placed in the penalty area, but was not awarded a penalty (see video below). “The referee team did an indisputable job,” said Schaider angrily.

Hot duels for Austria Salzburg

The second in the table finds the perfect answer after Fabian Neumayr’s 1-0 lead after a goalkeeper error by Nico Tezzele by Marinko Sorda. After the hits by Patrick Probst and Aaron Boold Volkert, Johannes Zottl’s subsequent goal was not enough to win a point. “The game showed once again that anyone can beat anyone,” said Seekirchen coach Mario Lapkalo.

In minute 69 it got completely chaotic. Referee Thomas Steinbeck showed six yellow cards after severe criticism and sent Schwaighofer, who applauded after his warning, with a yellow-red card. “That was excessive,” emphasized Schaider, whose team had to put up with the third complete defeat.

The “Weeks of Truth” are now on the program for the violets. Because when the first St. Johann chaser meets Kuchl, Anif and the leader, when it comes to promotion tickets, things get down to business. The Maxglaner can hardly afford a crisis, because with only four “grains” ahead of Anif, the good starting position can be quickly gone.

SAK win again against Grödig

It was also really hot in the table cellar, where the SAK presented the “Red Lantern” to Grödig at home in 1914. In the 3-1 victory of the Nonntaler, Sebastian Hölzl met in a double pack. Julian Feiser meanwhile achieved the 2-0 lead. Danijel Vucanovic’s subsequent goal was ultimately not enough for a draw. “We always believed in ourselves and got ourselves out of there,” said SAK coach Roman Wallner.

He was particularly impressed by the two “Lupfer gates” of his protégés. The former national player of Austria was never questioned despite the earnings crisis. “It just makes the club likeable that people keep their calm despite the lack of success,” said Wallner, whose team beat Grödig for the second time.

Unstoppable Kuka von Kuchl

USK Anif is the new third placed. Bernhard Kletzl Moor’s squad on Saturday Kuchl 3-1. Enis Kuka almost single-handedly kills the strong Tennengauers with a three-pack. “That was an unbelievable performance from him. He just couldn’t be kept,” explained Kletzl, whose team left the game to the Tennengau team. Since Anif received too many goals in the last few rounds, the focus was clearly on the defensive.

“We played two situations perfectly against Kuchl’s 4-4-2 system and its midfield diamond and won,” Anif’s coach analyzed. Kuka and Co are waiting for a slip by Salzburg Austria and are still hoping to catch up in the last third of the season.

Pinzgau against Wals-Grünau canceled

The duel between FC Pinzgau and Wals-Grünau had to be canceled due to Corona cases in the Flachgau region. The game against neo-taillight Grödig scheduled for Wednesday and the Sunday game against the SAK also wobble.
