PS won one more junta in Lisbon than the coalition led by the PSD. A magnifying glass look at the changes in Lisbon – Observador
The winner in the capital was Moedas, but a more micro vision of the city of Lisbon shows that it was the PS that (just barely) conquered more parishes. PCP conquered Carnide. Only two of Lisbon’s 24 parishes had absolute majorities: Ajuda and Alcântara. The Liberal Initiative reached the podium in four parishes, but the communists are the most frequent presence in third place.
PS won 12 parish councils, PSD and CDS won in 11. The city of Lisbon will have 11 presidents of the PSD and CDS boards, in the following parishes: Belém, Estrela, Santo António, São Vicente, Penha de França, Parque das Nações, Avenidas Novas, Areeiro, São Domingos de Benfica, Alvalade, Lumiar. The PS won 12 parish councils: Ajuda, Alcântara, Campo de Ourique, Misericórdia, Santa Maria Maior, Arroios, Beato, Marvila, Benfica, Campolide, Olivais, Santa Clara;
PCP wins at Carnide. With a higher percentage of votes than four years ago (45.53% compared to the 44.82% won in 2017), the PCP won again in Carnide. The second political force in this parish, however, is no longer the PS (which won 18.23% of the votes) to become the PSD (with 20.06% of the votes). Thus, the PS comes in third, followed by Chega, IL, Bloco de Esquerda, PAN and Ergue-te;
Two biggest wins are for PS. Only two of Lisbon’s 24 parishes had more than half of the voters’ votes: Ajuda and Alcântara. In the first, the PS won 51.48% of the photos. In the second, the PS had 53.65% – the highest percentage achieved by a political force in one of the 24 councils in the municipality of Lisbon;
AN Liberal Initiative is the third political force in four parishes in the municipality of Lisbon: Avenidas Novas (9.10%), Belém (8.63%), Parque das Nações (7.95%) and Estrela (7.33%).
But the party that most emerged in this incorporated position was the Portuguese Communist Party., in Ajuda (13.61%), Alcântara (9.33%), Campo de Ourique (8.81%), Misericórdia (12.25%), Santo António (8.07%), Santa Maria Maior (14 , 33%), Arroios (12.51%), Penha de França (13.52%), Beato (13.02%), Marvila (11.73%), Benfica (8.91%), Campolide (8 , 95%), Areeiro (7.65%), São Domingos de Benfica (8.61%), Alvalade (8.58%), Olivais (13.80%), Lumiar (8.67%) and Santa Clara (12.42%) – a total of 18 Lisbon parishes. Furthermore, it ranks second in São Vicente (22.89%) and, of course, first in Carnide.
The best result that Chega obtained among the parishes of Lisbon registered in Santa Clara, where the party led by André Ventura registered 11.23% of the votes. In this parish, the victory went to PS with 36.19%, followed by PSD with 21.99% and PCP with 12.42%. The worst result in the municipality of Lisbon was in Santo António, a parish where the far-right party did not exceed 3.36% of the votes.
From all parties in all parishes in the municipality of Lisbon, the one with the least success was Ergue-te, which only won 0.18% of the votes in Carnide. The rest, the far-right party, never exceeded 0.39%, the result it obtained in Santa Clara.
