After announcing on September 4 his candidacy for the Presidency of the Republic to Clamecy (Nièvre), his native town, then presented the main axes of his program on Saturday at Frangy-en-Bresse (Saône-et-Loire), son electoral fiefdom, Arnaud Montebourg chose Haute-Garonne for his first trip to the countryside, wednesday 29 and Thursday, September 30, 2021.
The remorada, we know a radius in Toulouse
At the start of the school year, the former Minister of the Economy and Productive Recovery, converted into beekeeping, announced himself to present himself free and without political party, thus distancing himself from the Socialist Party, which he had already left for a few years. And he unveiled the slogan of his campaign: “The Remountada of France”.
A slogan which had amused the gallery a bit, but which is reminiscent of fond memories for fans of the Pink City: the famous Toulouse Football Club “remountada” in 2016. While the Violets were at bay, Pascal Dupraz and his band had achieved the feat of save the skin of téfécé in the elite.
“He speaks like the people of France”
Local co-referent of the movement The Commitment by Arnaud Montebourg, with the Luchonnais and regional advisor John Palacin, the departmental advisor and president of Haute-Garonne Tourisme Didier Cujives, defends this very colorful formula of “remountada”: “Some have laughed at him a bit, but he speaks like the people of France, he wants to go to the meeting”.
“Why should we speak like the enarques, with a punished vocabulary? Let us quit the ambient snobbery a little! Let us make sure that we live the ascension in France, as we have known it in football.”
A public meeting at Didier Cujives
For this comeback of a different kind, Arnaud Montebourg’s trip will begin with a public meeting at the village hall of Paulhac (Haute Garonne), north-east of Toulouse, at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The municipality was obviously not chosen at random, since its mayor is no other than … Didier Cujives. If he is – and remains – a member of the Socialist Party, the elected representative is an early support for Arnaud Montebourg, “behind whom I have always been for 20 years”, and sees “no problem with what we can support several candidates in the left family ”.
“Faithful to his convictions and his commitments, Arnaud Montebourg seems to me to be the most in line with the ideas that I have been defending for 20 years. I am very happy that he chose my town and its 1,100 inhabitants to launch his campaign. is further proof that he is the candidate of France for the left behind and the forgotten “.
TER, market and meeting with mayors on the program
Arnaud Montebourg’s stopover in Haute-Garonne, which should actually start the day before with a trip to the National Public Transport Meetings, will not stop in Paulhac, and will take place on Thursday, September 30. At 7:56 am sharp, the former minister will rally in TER Montastruc in Toulouse. He will then go to the Carbonne market, then visit the Lavernose-Lacasse photovoltaic park. At midday, he must visit the La Turbine info-energy space in Muret, where he must lunch with several mayors of the department.
The afternoon takes place in the Muretain, with a visit to the SNDC company, which manufactures air conditioning parts and tools in Labarthe-sur-Lèze, then a meeting with actors of the social and solidarity economy in the third place the Tipi Vert, still in Labarthe.
He had already launched his 2017 campaign in Toulouse
Arnaud Montebourg is no stranger in the Occitan capital. It is in Toulouse, “city of Jean Jaurès and socialism”, he said then, that Arnaud Montebourg had already launched his campaign for the socialist primary before the presidential 2017. A primary which he had finished in the first round, came in third position (17.75%) behind Benoît Hamon and Manuel Valls. And already, at the time, Didier Cujives and his son Romain, elected in Toulouse, stood behind the champion of demondialization and made in France.
