Overthrown by Caen, Toulouse fall for the first time this season in Ligue 2
Before the reception of Caen, the Toulousains had been led only six short minutes in Ligue 2. It was August 21 on the lawn of Dijon before completely reversing the situation and winning easily (4-2). They seemed to be on their way to do it again on Monday: led quickly to the score after a goal from Franklin Wadja from a corner, (6th) the leaders scored twice in two minutes through Branco Van den Boomen. The first on a penalty (15th) and the second on a masterful direct free kick when the fault seemed to have been committed inside the area (17th).
Unlike last Tuesday when the Caennais ended the very frustrated meeting against Dijon (0-1), being unfairly refused two goals and ending the match at 10, this time they showed great mental strength to get up and even regain the advantage just before the break. Zady Sery provoked against his camp of Bafodé Diakité after a crazy ride in the axis (39th). Jessy Deminguet then sanctioned the apathy of the defense of an unstoppable flat foot on an offering from the Tunisian international Ali Abdi (45 + 1e).
Toulouse still leader
The two teams had the opportunity to come back to height either to take off but neither Rhys Healey in Toulouse (65th), nor Abdi (71st) or Alexandre Mendy (75th) in Caen did not find the fault. Les Violets conceded their first defeat of the season but retained the lead in the Championship with three points ahead of Sochaux. For its part, Caen met an end to a series of five games without a win (3 defeats and 2 draws) and is replaced three points from the play-off places.
