It was his family who sounded the alert, not seeing him return from his morning hunting trip. The gendarmes were mobilized for several hours, Sunday, September 26, 2021, after the disappearance of a 76-year-old man who left to hunt with his dogs in the town of Verfeil (Haute Garonne).
He had fallen into a ditch
Balma and Verfeil’s men, assisted by a dog handler and his animal who came especially from Cahors (Lot), searched for the missing person for a good part of the day to possibly locate him around 4 p.m.
The man had actually fallen into a ditch, just a few miles from his home, and was disoriented to the point that he couldn’t answer the many calls made by his worried family.
Firefighters came to the hunter to examine him, but his health did not require hospitalization.
