Hard lesson overseas. Czech hopes are fighting for a place in the NHL in pre-season camps
Czech representative in the first round of the draft? A trend that used to be quite common, today we rarely see it. The time when domestic hockey managed to fill the top positions is long gone. And even this year’s selection of young hopes cannot be assessed too positively.
After all, the defender of the Brno Comet also became the best-placed player Stanislav Svozil, which gradually fell to the third round in the final 69th place. And yet he was reached by the ambitious Columbus Blue Jackets, no big celebrations.
Stanislav Svozil played at the highest hockey level in the Czech Republic for only 16 years.
Two years later, he is ready for a new challenge.https://t.co/ZHUnq4Nm4E

However, the eighteen-year-old eventually decided to leave the Czech extra league and set out to fight overseas. The Vítkovice attack also chose the same path Martin Ryšavý, who won his position in the Columbus organization only in complete limitation. In both cases, however, it is assumed that they will play the first season in the farmers’ league after the end of the pre-season camps.
Another very interesting name is the Karlovy Vary goalkeeper Patrik Hamrla, who also earned his place in the pre – season training of the NHL. Carolina Hurricanes applied for his services, where, for example, forward Martin Nečas takes over. Hamrla enters the campsite as goalkeeper number 5, where he moves afterwards, he is still an unsolved puzzle.
The last representative at the pre-season NHL camps is also a Brno offspring Jakub Brabenec, where you can expect a fierce fight for a place in the luxury casino city of Las Vegas.
The remaining four drafted talents did not make it to the wider list and thus remain with their older employers. Let’s pour pure wine. There is definitely no glory. But there is still plenty of light at the end of the tunnel. Last year, for example, the striker has a great profile Jan Jeník, which enchanted hockey Arizona especially in the measures of the season. Its namesake appears similar in Montreal Mouse, often rated as the greatest domestic talent of today.
Perhaps closest to its premiere in the world’s best hockey league is another representative from Brno’s talent factories Philip the King, this is what we are expecting in Toronto this year, perhaps a key camp in its current protection. Last year he finished the season with good performances on the farm, now he is grinding his teeth on the first team. Similarly, the son of the Olympic winner from Nagano, Robert Reichel, is in the Winnipeg jersey Christian. He has been fighting in vain on a farm in Manitoba for four years, but is still waiting for his first chance. “This is a crucial year for me this year,” he said.
Czech goalie school
But the chances are also growing this year in the goal area. In the Islanders jersey, the goalkeeper enters the next campsite Jakub Škarek, now he is much closer from the position of the goalkeeper trio. He is also in Anaheim within reach of his debut Lukáš Dostál, for example, after last year’s great performances on the farm.
WITH Jakub Brabence A 22-year-old goalkeeper from České Budějovice will also try to premiere in Vegas Jiří Patera, his colleague in the goal area Jakub Kořenář he leaves again for a new trust in the Arizona coyotes.
The great Czech dynasty is slowly growing in Chicago, where six compatriots took part in the preparation. Dominik Kubalík it probably has a certain place, but among other things, they will fight against Hradec Králové for the list Matěj Chalupa, predatory youth in the form Michalů Teplého with Krutilem and also the Pilsen šikula Jakub Pour or national team defender Jakub Galvas.
The last to wait for his big debut is the 23-year-old Jakub Lauko, who helped Karlovy Vary extraleague last season. Now, after healing his wound, he returns to his forms and tries to fight for a place in the cabin of the Boston bears.

The new NHL season kicks off on October 13 European Time. For Czech youngsters, however, the key part begins on the weekend, when the preparatory match starts in full swing. In other words, a difficult struggle for one’s place.
Will we witness major Czech debuts this year?
