Nicolas Anne, motorcycle enthusiast, was touched by Isaac, by his story and by his parents’ struggle. On Sunday October 10, 2021, he is organizing a motorcycle ride departing from Troarn, near Caen. The revenue for this day (participation is 5 € per helmet) will go to the association Isaac & Co created by the young boy’s parents to help fund responsible therapies.
“Isaac’s mother is a friend’s colleague,” explains Nicolas Anne. I was in a soccer tournament a while ago and the little boy was there. So I said to myself, why not organize a motorcycle ride to help the family ”.
A brain malformation since birth
Isaac is now 8 years old. At the age of two, a brain MRI revealed hypoplasia of the corpus callosum. In other words: a brain malformation. The young boy suffers from a developmental delay, in particular in his cognitive capacities. “This malformation is not genetic, it’s just bad luck”, explains Ophélie, the mother of the little boy.
Today, Isaac walks and runs, but you have to constantly exercise your brain. For two years, he has been enrolled at the IME André Bodereau in Fleury-sur-Orne. “He is really happy to be there, he likes it there”, adds his mother.
Young therapists to help the boy
As there is no medicine to cure this malformation, Isaac’s parents sought out unconventional therapies often abroad and often noticed. “For the first time, we went to Spain. The therapy consisted of stimulating his brain and his body with 4 hours per day of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, swimming pool. We paid 4000 euros, with the help of our family ”. Isaac is currently undergoing therapy near Saint-Malo which severely limits his epileptic seizures to 1,500 euros per week.
“We also went to Belfort, Belgium… Each time, these therapies are good for him. The EMI is very good for him but we always want more ”.
Registration by phone (07 77 00 66 26) or on Facebook page of the event.
