French actress and singer moved Paris to Vilnius: many did not understand why I loved Lithuania so much
Asked what roads led to Lithuania, Clotilde tells how she came to Paris to study at the age of nineteen. And although this city is like a dream come true for many, the girl from a small town had a hard time getting there, and she didn’t like the studio very much, she lacked inspiration.
“Unexpectedly, at one of the travelers’ parties, I met a Lithuanian woman who looks like a real fairy or fairy to me, I immediately thought about what a magical creature she was and immediately wanted to know her magical birthplace. It was through the prism of her heart that I found new inspiration, then I came to visit her, later I met even more Lithuanian artists, I got involved in various practices, participated in exhibitions. I really enjoyed it here, but I never thought I would stay that long. It wasn’t until three years later that my parents realized I wasn’t going back. Now, although I am sad that I am far from them, I am very happy that I am happy here, because I know very well that I have experienced an internal crisis and depression in Paris, ”says the artist.
Before arriving in Vilnius, Clotilde had no preconceived not only about the city, but also toured the Baltic country or Eastern Europe.
“I was just caused by the death of a famous French actress here in town. Maybe it’s good that I didn’t have any expectations, maybe that’s why I really enjoyed everything here. I didn’t regret being here for a day. I feel like a tree slowly taking root here. My house is already in Lithuania “, – assures the Frenchwoman.
“I fell in love with Lithuania, I am a soul who wants to discover himself, and Vilnius is a very good city to do so. I really like all the parks in Vilnius, Žvėrynas, Užupis, Paupis, Green Lakes, Nemenčinė. I am a true nature lover. It is very safe in Vilnius, compared to France, you can come back here in the middle of the night and not be afraid of anything, ”says the artist, who speaks fast in Lithuanian.
Due to her well-mastered Lithuanian language, a woman receives many compliments and surprises as she succeeded.
“Learning Lithuanian is my respect for the country I live in. If we think that it is a difficult language, it will not work, and my example shows that it really is, ”said my interlocutor. True, she admits that some such difficulties still arise when going to Samogitia, for example, or listening to older people who speak vaguely.
Clotilde, who sings mostly about love, says she thinks we’re not just between men and women, it’s generally a phenomenon: “I’ve researched it in various forms. For me, music is love too. Each of my songs is born from inner experiences. ”
