Eurocircuito de Lousada receives another race of the Portuguese Rallycross Championship
The Lousada Eurocircuit will host another race of the Portuguese Rallycross / Kartcross / Super Buggy 2021 Championship from October 8th to 10th.
Initially scheduled for Sever do Vouga, a race had to be changed by the Portuguese Federation of Automobile and Karting (FPAK) due to the fact that the Alto do Roçário Circuit is being the target of requalification works, namely a new increase in the paddock space, installation of points of light and water, as well as stabilizing the floor and paving.
This scenario led the federation to contact the two clubs that, this year, will organize just one competition – Lousada and Mação – to find out which of the two was available to replace Sever do Vouga’s round. As those responsible for the Circuito de Mação, which hosted the fifth round of the championship at the beginning of September, the possibility of returning to the race in such a short time did not appear, the Clube Automóvel de Lousada (CAL) arrived at the forward and accepted the challenge.
“It is well known the affection that Lousada has for motorsport, in particular for ralicross, so when we learned of the unavailability of Mação to receive a second visit from RX Portugal by Diatosta, we immediately responded in the affirmative to FPAK”, said Luís Marinho, president of the CAL.
