This statement was made by the head of the department, Sergei Lavrov, speaking at a press conference following his visit to New York for the 76th session of the UN General Assembly. According to him, almost half of the hacker attacks on Russian state resources were carried out from the United States. Of 45 requests sent to Washington, only 9 were answered.
“The largest number of hacker resources on our resources were from the United States, about half, – Lavrov’s decrees. – We sent 45 official requests with specific indication of the facts requiring investigation by our American colleagues. There were only nine replies.”
In turn, about 10 inquiries were received from the United States to Russia, the minister added. At the same time, answers were given, for each of them.
When asked about the accusations of the Russian Federation in connection with the cyber attacks that were carried out against European politicians, Lavrov replied that the Foreign Ministry is ready to cooperate when presenting facts from the European Commission. “We are ready to consider any facts, but the facts are not given to us,” the head of the Foreign Ministry said, adding that Russia “is only unfoundedly being held accountable.”
