The new deputy director in the Office for Urban Development is called Martin Schneider. He will take up the position on January 1, 2022.
Martin Schneider has been head of local, settlement and regional planning in the spatial development department of the canton of Aargau since 2017. Mr. Schneider is a member of the management and leads an interdisciplinary team.
Before that, Mr. Schneider worked in the architecture office Gigon / Guyer, afterwards as area supervisor for the townscape and urban development in the Office for Spatial Development of the Canton of Zurich and later as project manager for construction and architecture at SBB.
Studied in Darmstadt and Paris
Mr. Schneider studied architecture at the Technical University of Darmstadt and in Paris and worked for the architects Herzog & de Meuron and Albert Speer & Partner during his studies.
With Martin Schneider, the Office for Urban Development is gaining an architect and manager with extensive professional experience in architecture, urban development and spatial planning who is familiar with the challenges, structures, processes and instruments in these specialist areas. The father of two children, who lives in the city of Zurich, will take up the new position on January 1, 2022
