It’s a revolution… by bike. The “Velorution” is back in the Lyon area this Saturday, September 25, 2021. A procession of bicycles, scooters, skates and other soft mobility, will start at 2 pm from the Esplanade Miriam Makeba in Vaulx-en-Velin to reach Place Guichard at Lyonnais.
The objective of this parade organized by Alternatiba Rhône and the City by bike is to “take back our territories”, as the event proclaims. In effect, this consists of ” demand a change in transport policy to live in a peaceful, more convivial and sustainable territory ”.
#And now ? @LaVilleaVelo manifesto Saturday at 9.45 a.m. in Caluire with @ plateaunordave1 and at 2 p.m. in Vaulx-en-Velin with @ alternatiba69 to claim the right to secure cycling facilities that involve reducing the space dedicated to the car.

Less cars, more bikes
Reduce the space dedicated to the car, create cycle lanes and rethink public transport … So many complaints related to environmental and health issues (according to a study by Public Health France, air pollution is responsible for 40,000 deaths each year in France).
If they are impatient to see the change, these activists certainly welcome the latest environmental proposals at the head of Greater Lyon, namely: the development of a cycle lane on the right bank of the Rhône, on the Presqu’île side; and the creation of 12 lines across the metropolis as part of the Express Vélo Network.
