This is the tile for the more than 300 students of the Les Petits Artistes school in Gragnague (Haute-Garonne), near Toulouse. Since Wednesday, September 22, 2021, the establishment has closed its doors, constrained by the “large number of positive cases” for Covid-19 in children.
A closure to stop the chain of contamination
In a letter addressed to the parent, Daniel Calas, the mayor of this town of 1,800 souls, said that this closure would be effective until Monday, September 27 inclusive, “in order to stop the chain of contamination”.
“We remind you that all the children of the school are put in solitary confinement, this means that they cannot participate in any activity or demonstration until Monday”.
Contacted, the town hall of Gragnague has, for the moment, not responded to the requests ofToulouse news.
Four schools closed in the academy
According to the Toulouse Academy, as of September 23, it is the only school in Haute-Garonne to be currently closed. On the rest of the territory, three other schools must give up welcoming students for a week. Two of them are in the Tarn-et-Garonne and another in the Tarn.
In the academy, 79 classes (out of 31,380 in total) are currently closed due to Covid-19. Details, department by department:
- Upper Garonne: 31
- Tarn: 11
- Hautes-Pyrénées: 8
- Bundle: 8
- Gers: 7
- Ariège: 6
- Aveyron: 5
- Tarn-et-Garonne: 3
As for confirmed Covid cases, 303 students and 14 staff concerned.
