Fewer and fewer people in Toulouse go to be vaccinated. “In view of the decrease in demand”, the vaccine strategy is changing. Some vaccination centers will close their doors in October.
In the coming days, the vaccine strategy in Haute-Garonne will evolve “in view of the decrease in demand”. Emphasis will now be placed on the local offer provided by primary care providers (doctors, pharmacists, nurses and other health professionals authorized to be vaccinated). Since the start of the school year, the number of people getting vaccinated has indeed fallen sharply. The vaccine park on Île du Ramier now only accommodates 600 people per day compared to 5,000 at the height of summer.
Closure of the center of Île du Ramier in a month
From the end of September, the mobile vaccination teams will be deployed in the department, the capacities of the vaccination centers will be reduced, while some centers will close their doors before December 31. “This adaptation will result in a change from 10 centers currently to 8 in October, then to 6 in November. »The closing of the vaccination center on Ile du Ramier (hall 7), which, as a reminder, is the largest in Europe, is scheduled for the end of October.
“The objective is to meet the challenges of vaccine booster shots for the elderly, people in fragile situations and / or with co-morbidities, as well as for first-time vaccinations”, specify the prefecture and the regional health agency. This strategy will be considered regularly this fall “as needed for vaccine needs, the structuring of the local vaccine offer, changes in the national vaccination program”.
