Prague – The Building Authority of Prague 6 has issued an invalid decision on the location of the indoor swimming pool in the Petynka swimming pool complex in Střešovice. The zoning decision for the completion of the Petynka complex was issued earlier by the Department of Construction of Prague 6. At the time, Geosan appealed. The Construction Department at the Prague City Hall subsequently annulled the zoning decision and returned the matter for a new hearing. In mid-July 2021, the Department of Construction of the Prague 6 District issued a so-called notice on the completion of documents on the continuation of territorial proceedings, and on 3 September it issued a decision on the location of buildings, as Hannich stated. According to the councilor of Prague 6 and the chairman of the board of directors of the service company SNEO Zdeněk Hořánek (STAN), the building authority of Prague 6 did not receive any objections to supplement the documents and continue the territorial proceedings. Councilors announce this at a meeting of the Prague 6 City Council in mid-September.
The creation of an indoor swimming pool in the Petynka sports and recreational complex, operated by the city service company SNEO, will be prepared according to a project from the workshop of Atelier 11 Hradec Králové from 2018. According to previous information, thanks to the new construction, a 25-meter swimming pool, saunas, exercise halls and a multifunctional pool should be created in the area, which should be used for teaching school children in the morning.
The town hall now wants the total amount for the completion of the complex to be a maximum of around 250 million crowns. The creation of the indoor swimming pool should be financed from a subsidy from the National Sports Agency, from grants from the Prague City Hall and from the budget of the Prague 6 city district.
According to Hořánka, this year’s attendance at the Petynka outdoor swimming pool was affected by bad times and government regulations related to covid-19. From June to August 24, the swimming pool was visited by 58,880 visitors, of which in 2019 there were almost 92,000. Part of the operating hours this summer was specifically the regulation of the limited capacity of the complex. Last year, the swimming pool was repaired. The reconstruction for approximately 27 million crowns without VAT included the replacement of the outdoor pool tub, the extension and modification of the toboggan run and the reconstruction of the changing rooms. The work was demonstrated by Berndorf Baderbau.
SNEO was founded in 2004. The scope of activities are, for example, property management and maintenance, sale and lease of residential and non-residential premises and land in the Prague 6 district, and management of the Petynka swimming pool.
