Rome – The summer of sport was fantastic for Italy. The Squadra Azzurra rose to the potential of football champions with a cheeky game. At the Olympics, Lamont Marcell Jacobs, who grew up on Lake Garda, won the gold over the 100 meters, which is otherwise reserved for North Americans – afterwards he also led the Italian sprint relay to victory. Among other things, there was also a much acclaimed gold medal in the high jump.
