Start exchanging shelters at stops, advertising will be digital

The city authorities also keep all the so-called citylight showcases (CLV) at the stop, which are free-standing advertising spaces that are not part of the stop. “It will mean a reduction in advertising revenue, on the contrary, it is in line with the capital’s policy of reducing visual smog,” said property councilor Jan Chabr (TOP 09).

But advertising does not disappear from public space, it moves to a more cultured form. “It is assumed that part of the advertising medium will be digital, which will allow us to switch content very quickly. Now we are working on its appearance so that it does not look like visual smog, “said Chabr, adding that during the night from 11 pm to 6 am they dimmed the backlight from the light areas, advertising would also alternate with city information systems.

The municipality already has a new supplier of benches and parts of shelters. “Now the individual tranches will be closed, they will be launched this November. It will start with Prague 13 and Prague 6, and approximately 40 new shelters should be installed by the end of the year. Next year, most of the renovation will take place, “said the councilor.

Stop with electronic systems

A prototype of a modern stop with electronic systems stands on Palackého náměstí. “Some things have been modified, the prototype is now in the final solution. It will be shown if USB chargers are needed, because people will fill them with chewing gum and matches, “Chabr complained.

There are also hundreds of places in the metropolis where there are no shelters, such as Výtoň or Jarov. In the comment procedure, the city districts applied for new shelters, a total of roofs with a bench will be built in 150 new places.

The acquisition of the new furniture is the responsibility of the municipal company Technology of the Capital City, operated in the previous transition to a transport company. The current furniture was operated by the French advertising giant JCDexau from 1994 until June this year, when its contract expired, which the municipality refused to extend after protracted disputes. Prague politicians insisted that it was more advantageous for the city to own the furniture directly.
