The new United Russia faction will include former Labor Minister Maxim Topilin, singer Denis Maidanov, President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretyak and Head of the State Duma Defense Committee, Hero of Russia Colonel-General Vladimir Shamanov, reports RIA News citing a source in the party.

The five leaders of the UR federal list included Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, head physician of the Kommunarka hospital Denis Protsenko, child rights ombudsman Anna Kuznetsova and ONF headquarters co-chair Elena Shmeleva, but it is not yet known whether they are deputies.

On September 27, the head of state, Vladimir Putin, will hold a meeting with the leaders of the United Russia list, the communication will be held via videoconference.

Recall that after processing 100% of the protocols, United Russia won on party lists with 49.82% of the vote. This is followed by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (18.93%), the Liberal Democratic Party (7.55%), A Just Russia – For the Truth (7.46%) and New People (5.32%).

Earlier it was reported that the chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin has great chances to be elected speaker of the chamber for the next convocation. A source close to the United Russia leadership noted that he was the most likely candidate.
