Jürg Christen leaves Swiss

A heavyweight is leaving the airline industry: Jürg Christen (60), Head of Sales Switzerland at Swiss International Air Lines (Swiss), has decided to leave the company at the end of August 2021 and to retire early.

For the past five years, Christen has been responsible for sales, sales management and sales service for all premium brands of the Lufthansa Group (Swiss, Lufthansa, Austrian and Brussels Airlines) in the Swiss market. This also made him one of the primary contacts for the Swiss travel associations and organizations and was sometimes present at trade fairs and events. Christen has been in the airline industry for over 40 years and was active in various other management functions for Swiss and the Lufthansa Group – also internationally.

Tamur Goudarzi Pour, CCO of Swiss, explains: “We very much regret the departure of Jürg Christen. In recent years, by promoting the further development of Lufthansa Group sales with the introduction of new distribution technologies, he has made a significant contribution to increasing sales in the B2B area in the home market of Switzerland. He managed to bring the sales activities of the Lufthansa Group airlines in Switzerland together extremely successfully in a joint organization. On behalf of the management, I wish Jürg Christen all the best for the future. “

The search for a successor has begun.
