About Just Eat Switzerland
Just Eat is Swiss sales in the food delivery sector with 4000 partner restaurants and acts as a platform between the consumer and the restaurant. Two products are tracked: Either the restaurant delivers the food itself or Just Eat takes care of the delivery with its own courier staff. They are insured, benefit from social benefits and are paid above the minimum wage. Just Eat – then EAT.ch – was founded in 2007 by the former HSG students Reto Graf and Lukas Weder. Five years later a joint venture with the Just Eat group, which is headquartered in London. In 2015 EAT.ch became a 100% subsidiary of the Just Eat Group. At the beginning of 2020, the British Just Eat Group merged with the Dutch food delivery company Takeaway.com to form Just Eat Takeaway.com. In this context, the merger of the EAT.ch and Takeaway.com brands was also registered in Switzerland. The company was continued under the name EAT.ch and its position as a Swiss company was further expanded. In order to be able to efficiently implement the numerous advertising and marketing activities of the parent company Just Eat Takeaway.com in the Swiss market, the brand name EAT.ch changed to Just Eat in May 2020. In March 2021, Just Eat Takeaway.com signed one of UEFA’s largest partnerships. The associated, strongly present branding is not only intended to attract a great deal of attention to the 4,000 Swiss restaurant partners, but also to provide customers with numerous advantages. The change was purely related to the brand name and had no impact on other areas of the company. The team with over 150 employees remains active in Switzerland and is continuously being expanded. Lukas Streich is Country Manager of Just Eat and in this role is responsible for the operational management of the company in Switzerland. He has been with the company since 2017.
