Austria’s ranking in the national ranking is no less sensational. The home team currently has 79.10 points, which puts Team Austria in fourth place, just behind the third-placed French (77.3). The British (64.8) still hold their own at the top, led by the defending champions from Germany (69.70) who, with the reigning European champions Imgrid Klimke and SAP Hale Bob OLD, also made the best couple in the dressage competition (20, 2 MP).
Versatility speaker Thomas Tesch is very happy after this successful start. “This is the best championship result for Austria after a day of dressage. All have delivered. We are overjoyed and will now toast this result ”, said Tesch in an interview with the horse review. There is not much time to celebrate, because “the area here in Avenches is our full concentration”, says Tesch. “The course here is pretty tough. There are many tricky assignments, especially in the last quarter of the route. Emotionally, the course here is even more difficult than that of the EM 2019 in Luhmühlen. ”
Time in particular could be a criterion on the 5.765 meter long course. “The time will be difficult to achieve”, Thomas Tesch is certain. “Our primary goal is to stay flawlessly at the obstacles. We want to get as close as possible to the allotted time, but after the first walk it is clear that some of our couples will ride alternative routes – and of course, dying is very time-consuming. We will of course be very time-consuming Time consuming, our placement to keep as good as possible what WILL be hard enough.
