Anti-pass demonstrations: new ban on access to the center of Toulouse for undeclared gatherings
The prefecture of Haute-Garonne said in a press release this Friday evening that it again prohibited any gathering “undeclared protest” in the hypercentre of Toulouse this Saturday, September 25, where a new call for demonstration against the health pass has been launched.
For the 11 consecutive Saturday, demonstrations against the health pass must take place across France on September 25.
In Toulouse, the participants cannot foresee, not walk the streets of the hypercentre. The prefecture of Haute-Garonne announced this Friday evening “the prohibition of access to the hypercentre of Toulouse to any unreported protest rally on September 25, 2021”.
The prefecture specifies in its press release that “disturbances to public order were triggered in downtown Toulouse during undeclared gatherings on 14, 17, 21, 24, 31 July, 7, 14, 21, 28 August, 4 , September 11 and 18, 2021, in particular during acts of violence within the procession, anarchic wanderings in the city center of Toulouse, an obstacle to traffic by means of metal barriers placed on the public highway by demonstrators , intrusion attempts within the Toulouse town hall and the regional prefecture, violence, throwing projectiles and insults committed on various occasions and causing injuries among the police, the invasion of several places as well as deterioration of street furniture and terraces “.
Disturbances which “could recur” this Saturday, September 25 and which, according to state services, justify the ban formulated on Friday.
This prohibition to demonstrate in an undeclared manner is contained within a perimeter delimited by: the Rond-point du Boulingrin, the alleys Jules Guesdes, the alleys Paul Feuga, the Saint-Michel bridge, the alleys Charles de Fitte, the Catalans bridge, avenue Paul Séjourné, boulevard Lascrosses, boulevard d’Arcole, boulevard de Strasbourg, boulevard Lazare Carnot, allée Forain François Verdier, Rond-point du Boulingrin.
