a man kept his provisional license plate … more than 3 years
It is an “oversight” that left the police somewhat wary … 55-year-old man kept his provisional license plate for more than … 3 years “WW” of his vehicle, tells a police source to The Independent Opinion.
Indeed, a provisional “WW” plate has a validity period of 2 months. On expiry, it is tacitly extended by 2 months. So in effect, that means you can ride it for 4 months.
The plate attributed to another vehicle
The police realized this when the individual was stopped at high speed. on the side of the Purpan district in Toulouse. During the roadside check, the police discovered that the license plate of his Mercedes, which should have been changed a long time ago, had already been assigned to the owner of another (BMW brand this time).
“It is an oversight”, he would have declared in front of the police officers affirming to be sometimes “head in the air”.
The car is impounded
His license plates were seized. The car was impounded. He will be summoned before the court on October 12th. And will have to convince the judge that he did not purposely “forget” to change his plate so as not to receive any fines…
