Toulouse: a minibus stolen in Spain rushes into the crowd, several injured on Place Saint-Pierre
A violent collision took place Thursday evening September 23 at Place Saint-Pierre in Toulouse. A stolen minibus in Spain collided with a scooter and a pedestrian. The accident left two injured who were transported urgently by the Haute-Garonne firefighters.
The circumstances of this accident are currently unclear. Around 10:30 p.m. Thursday evening, Place Saint-Pierre, in the city center of Toulouse, for some reason, a collision occurred between a minibus, a pedestrian and the driver of a scooter.
The accident left two injured. The Haute-Garonne firefighters took care of the two victims. They were transported to the Purpan hospital center in relative urgency. These are two men whose age of 23. The 45-year-old driver of this tourist bus registered in Spain was not injured in the accident. He was arrested by the police and taken to the central police station. He was under the influence of alcohol and the minibus he was driving was reportedly stolen in Spain.
A security perimeter has been set up by the police. The accident took place a few steps from the bar “Chez Tonton” where many customers were present. Hundreds of people including many young people are received this Thursday evening on this terrace square of the many drinking establishments installed on the Place Saint-Pierre. Young people, having a drink, almost seemed to talk about seeing the police while the party was in full swing. Others wondered why a security perimeter was in place.
Most of the people we interviewed shortly after the crash were unaware of what might have happened or were not present at the time of the crash.
An investigation was opened to try to clarify the circumstances of this accident.
