Swedish builder Peab has been commissioned to build two six-storey buildings that contain 40 new apartments in the Norwegian city of Skien.

The contract is worth just under 14 million dollars (119 million Norwegian kroner) and contributes to the housing development at Herkules Park by Hjellevannet.

The customer, Herkules Park developer Klosterfoss Utvikling, is owned by Citycon and Peab Eiendomsutvikling.

“We are ready to start this project. The soil conditions are good and we expect an efficient construction process and high quality delivery. All carpentry and parts of the concrete work will be carried out by our own craftsmen and we will include trainees in the project, says Terje Kaasa Larsen, Peab manager in Norway.

“Our experience is that housing projects in this area have been well received and make people happy. We want to contribute to society by building homes connected to centers with meeting places, care and shopping opportunities, says Citycon’s commercial manager, Håkon Tuv Dalland.

The project is a turnkey contract and starts this month. Peab sa the apartments would be ready to move in before the summer of 2023.
